Electric Road Show Retracing Emily Post’s famous 1915 cross-country drive, the Electric Road Show trip will combine history, comedy, science, culture and a smart ironic send-up of reality TV (think the 4th wall-breaking style of Carl Sagan’s “The Cosmos” with the folksy affability Charles Kurault’s “On The Road.”) Each episode of the Electric Road Show will begin with a historical tableau depicting a key location which Parker and Serena will visit that week. After exploring what the site looked like circa 1915 through archival photos, films and set pieces, our hosts will make one leg of their cross-country journey by electric car, discovering what has changed and what hasn’t.
